Newcomer may have begun the 1990s as a throwback to the earnest early '70s Singer-Songwriter style, but her sound becomes more varied -- and interesting -- with each passing year. While her best tunes could "make it" alternately with Adult Alternative or country crowds, each song shares the same folk heart.
