The thin-voiced Elly Jackson really isn't soulful enough to be the new Alison Moyet, no matter what this multiple-Brit-hit synth-pop duo's fans claim. But she may well be Berlin's Terri Nunn reborn with a British accent. And in upbeat bounces like "Fascination," "Reflections Are Protection" and the blatantly Yazoo-copying U.K. chart-topper "Bulletproof," her better half Ben Langmaid does come up with cute electro-beats. Above the beats, in songs such as the teen-tantrum "Growing Pains," Jackson occasionally even proves she has a beating heart.
