Released: Feb 2012

This husband-wife duo made a splash with their 2011 debut -- Cape Dory, inspired by a sailing voyage -- but for this one they're back on solid ground, trying to add a bit of edge to their retro girl-group surf-pop with production help from The Black Keys' Patrick Carney. The music's still pretty tame -- almost too precious at times -- but it definitely has more weight to it: New drummer James Barone adds some bounce to the grooves, Alaina Moore sings about love like a philosopher, and Patrick Riley's ringing surf-rock guitar flirts with punchy piano and playful organ.
