Alt Christian Punk

A highly exploratory group of bands-with-a-message has clamored atop the foundation of mainstream punk without missing a raucous beat. Just like the fledgling stages of its parent genre, Alternative Christian Contemporary, Christian punk is still trying to find itself. As it evolves and experiments with different sounds, it's come to represent a slightly ambiguous punk-pop-post-grunge-emo cocktail with a twist of ska. Chart-toppers and groupie faves include Stavesacre, Watashi Wa, and OC Supertones, all of whom take encouraging, God-driven lyrics into the blue light of black box punk venues.
